Improvement in CDP Climate Change Score

OHI aims to become the foremost sustainability-focused operator in the world of vertical air mobility, and is a firm believer in the role of innovation in achieving its financial and sustainability goals.

OHI selected Gardenia as its sustainability data partner in 2024. In the first cycle, Gardenia worked with OHI to set up an automated pipeline for GHG inventory creation and CDP reporting - centralising data from across global teams, and enabling OHI to prepare its 2025 CDP report 75% faster. This cycle, the focus moved from building the infrastructure to using it.

Challenge

The work centred on two goals. On the insights side, the goal was to use GHG Inventory data to support monthly strategy meetings and ongoing analysis. On the reporting side, the goal was to score and improve CDP reports ahead of submission, and to get more insights to inform the year ahead.

Solution

The OHI team used Gardenia dashboards to explore data daily and generate reports for their monthly strategy meetings. The team were able to decompose the drivers behind emissions intensity changes and get a clearer view of emissions reduction pathways.

For reporting, the OHI team used Gardenia’s AI-assisted reporting tool, Report GenAI, to draft, score, and edit their CDP report. Score Checker scored the draft before submission, surfacing the gaps that would cost points.

  • Data Factory – Data consolidation and validation.
  • Intelligence Layer– Data enrichment and calculations.
  • Dashboards – GHG inventory and insights.
  • Report GenAI – Annual emissions report and CDP report.
“Working with the Gardenia Team was very much a time-saver, and the team's support was truly precious and worthwhile.”
Results

Having built an efficient workflow last cycle, OHI spent this cycle putting it to work — in strategy meetings and across the reporting cycle.

The OHI team now has daily data on its core GHG inventory and custom KPIs, feeding both ad hoc analysis and monthly strategy meetings.

The reporting cycle has shifted too: OHI now scores its submission before sending it, closing gaps ahead of the deadline rather than finding them after.

  • Informing Daily Analysis and Monthly Strategy Meetings - OHI uses its daily GHG inventory to run ad hoc analysis and prepare for monthly strategy meetings. Granular data lets the OHI team decompose what's moving intensity and identify potential emissions reduction pathways.
  • Moving from Disclosure to Strategic Reporting - OHI uses Score Checker to score its CDP submission and close gaps ahead of the deadline - and to define where to impove in the next year. Reporting moves from being a disclosure exercise to an input for strategy.

Across this reporting cycle, OHI prepared its first-draft CDP report in 3 days, and improved its CDP Climate Change Score by one band.
