mylight150 is a French leader in Europe’s energy transition. Through innovative technology and services, they help homeowners to generate solar power, manage consumption, and monetise surplus energy. They operate across France, Spain, Switzerland and Romania, and have connected over 30,000 homes.

The mylight150 team wanted to calculate a comprehensive GHG Inventory down to the component-level. With Gardenia, mylight150 has set up an automated carbon accounting workflow, providing a ‘live’ stream of high-quality data to monitor, manage and advance their sustainability performance.

Challenge

mylight150 sources solar components from 750+ suppliers across Asia and Europe. They needed a solution that could trace their supply chian, highlight the carbon impact of each component, and run the calculation at scale. Additional sources of complexity included:

  • 30+ solar panel types with signifiant variance in their emissions profiles
  • Global transportation network shipping components across Asia and Europe.
  • Extensive upstream and downstream emissions representing 99% of total emissions.
  • Energy provider vertical requiring market- and location-based emission calculation for grid, nuclear, and solar.
